Curriculum
OUR DESIGN FOR LEARNING
In keeping with National and State guidelines, our curriculum reflects contemporary educational practice with Middle and Senior phases of schooling. Class sizes are designed to provide optimum learning for our students.
In the Middle Phase of Learning, students study a broad and balanced core curriculum to ensure a solid foundation for future learning. Elective subjects provide an opportunity for extension and enrichment during these middle years.
In the Senior Phase of Learning, students can choose from a variety of structures incorporating:
- extension learning in Religious Studies, English, Mathematics, Science and Electives
- a traditional mix of Authority subjects leading to an OP with university entry
- alternative pathways providing practical skills and work experience leading to accreditation in ATQF Certificate Courses, employment and / or continuing study
- a combination of the above
Students have the opportunity to select from rich and diverse curriculum offerings, with over 30 subjects on offer in Years 11 and 12. Fields of study comprise Religious Studies, English, Mathematics, Sciences, Social Sciences, Languages, Visual and Performing Arts, Business and Technology, Health and Home Economics. From this foundation over 95% of our Year 12 students pursue tertiary entrance.
