Meg Jameson wins the 2015 National Silk Cut Award

Mt St Michael’s Art Department are thrilled to announce that Year 12 Art student Meg Jameson has won this year’s National Silk Cut Award for the student section. The judges’ comments on her beautiful Linocut were as follows, “Country Errands by Meg Jameson of Mt St Michael’s College was a beautifully executed graphic work. The image is well realized and shows a high level of technical proficiency.”

All winning works will form part of the ongoing gift to the National Gallery of Australia.
Meg will each receive a Silk Cut Award Trophy and Certificate of recognition and our Art Department will receive a monetary prize of $2,500.  We plan to invest in a new printing press!

Mia Nunan, Eloise Kelk and Phoebe Scriggins were Year 12 students who were finalists in the student section. We congratulate all students who entered the competition and encourage their passion for printmaking.
