fashion2

Year 11 Visual Arts in Practice students engaged in a class excursion to the Museum of Brisbane to view The Designers’ Guide: Easton Pearson. The exhibit provided insight into the workings of two successful local fashion designers. On display were concept sketches, fabric samples and a large story of designs by Easton Pearson. This exhibition also described the creative journey and provided an enriching example of the inquiry process for students to view in practice.

Year 7 students visit Lone Pine Sanctuary

Year 7 visited Lone Pine Sanctuary as part of their Science Biology unit, participating in the ‘Secret Life of Wildlife’ session where keepers spoke about different Australian animals, their adaptations and how humans impact on ecosystems. The keepers presented various pythons, the barking owl, magnificent tree frog and the white breasted sea-eagle. Students enjoyed feeding kangaroos, visiting platypus, Tasmanian devils, grey-headed flying fox and the impressive colourful Cassowary, where students observed the animals’ features in order to complete their Science Learning Task.
