Inaugural Queensland Athletics Nitro Schools Challenge

MSM fielded an Intermediate and Senior Girls team in the inaugural Queensland Athletics Nitro Schools Challenge held at UQ on Saturday. Nitro Schools is an innovative teams-based athletics carnival open to all schools across Australia. The format is the brainchild of IAAF President and Olympic legend Sebastian Coe and is financially backed by Usain Bolt.
The Intermediate team performed admirably placing 5th in a field of 19 schools from all over Queensland, many boasting strong athletics programs. The Senior team are Queensland Champions after defeating a red-hot field, including a number of notable athletics schools. It was a fitting end to the season and the perfect send-off to our Year 12 girls . The team will now head to Cairns in December to contest the National Finals of the competition.
