MSM Celebrates 2017
CrestOnly_RGB

MSM Celebrates 2017 takes place today, November 2. It is an important event for the Mt St Michael’s College community. It is an evening that recognises the outstanding commitment and excellent achievement of students in the academic, sporting, cultural and community action dimensions within the College.

Immediate family only are invited to attend this evening to celebrate your daughter’s achievements.

The evening commences at 7pm and all award recipients will be required to be in attendance for the whole evening, which we expect would finish at approximately 9:15pm.

We look forward to celebrating the wonderful outcomes of our students in 2017.

Library hosts end-of-year Morning Tea

The Library hosted its annual end-of-year morning tea today, to acknowledge and reward the efforts of the College’s Top Borrowers.

Each of the invited students had read over 40 books in 2017 and special commendation goes to Isobel Douglas (7A) who borrowed out over 100 books!

Congratulations to our Lucky Door prize winner, Rachel Radovan (7E), and our Book Quiz winners, Olivia Drake and Isobel Douglas (7A).

Thank you to the Library staff for organising the certificates and prizes, and to our special guest Ms Deborah Lonsdale-Walker (Acting Deputy Principal – Students).

We believe that creating and supporting a reading culture at Mt St Michael’s is essential if students are to become engaged and motivated readers.

Year 9 Dance class visits Mater Dei Primary School
Mater Dei

The Year 9 Dance class visited Mater Dei Primary School on Wednesday, where they performed to the Prep and Grade One Cohort.

The students created dance works around an educational theme, encouraging the Mater Dei students to learn through listening, watching and dancing. The Mater Dei students loved the dances and we loved seeing Year 9, Year One and Prep students enjoying learning together.

St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal
Christmas SVDP

Thanks to the generosity of the MSM community, over 50 boxes of toiletries, food, Christmas goods and gifts have been collected as part of the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal.

These items will be distributed to students and families of the Albert Park Flexi School by the St Vincent de Paul Ashgrove/The Gap chapter. Albert Park Flexi School, run by Edmund Rice Education, supports young people who have become disenfranchised and disengaged from education.
This is a wonderful cause for MSM students to be supporting. A huge thank you to all who supported this initiative.
