Competitive Year 7 and 8 Japanese language students joined forces with equally competitive Year 7 and 8 Marist College students to test their knowledge of Japanese landmarks, food, popular culture and sport. QDU competition

Year 12 debaters, Gen Ryan, Bernie Ryan, Gabrielle Brown, Sarah Grimson and Molly Read, had a successful Round 4 debate evening on Wednesday. The team’s two wins in the preliminary rounds of the QDU competition were short preparation debates. We are awaiting news as to whether this will secure them a place in the finals rounds.
Congratulations girls.

National Sorry Day ceremony

On Sunday 26 May, Mt St Michael’s College participated in the Teralba Park National Sorry Day ceremony. Our College has had a long standing relationship with the Teralba Park Stolen Generations Support Group (TPSGSG), chaired by Aunty Flo Watson OAM. We support their vision of engaging with both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and non-Indigenous Australians in this process of healing and reconciliation through education and awareness about the Stolen Generations. #MSM #NationalSorryDay #infatihandlove #mtstmichaelscollege

Year 9 Japanese students enjoy fun linguistic and social evening

Our Year 9 Japanese language students joined forces with Year 9 students studying Japanese from Marist College Ashgrove to enjoy a delicious feast of gyoza, sushi, karaage chicken and sukiyaki/shabu shabu at Bishamon Japanese Restaurant. The Japanese staff expertly showed students how to cook their one pot dinners, use chopsticks correctly and the language surrounding meal etiquette. A fun linguistic and social evening on the Languages’ calendar!
