Winter Warmers Staff Bookshop

On Tuesday June 26, the Library hosted its annual Winter Warmers Staff Bookshop. “Indulge your mind, nourish your body, free your soul” was the theme for this year’s event.

An addition to the Bookshop this year was the unveiling of MSM Staff Showcase of Craft and Art (SOCA). The staff were encouraged to share their creative selves with their work colleagues by exhibiting a personal piece of artwork or craft. The response was wonderful and everyone enjoyed strolling through the Showcase as they browsed the Senior Fiction book collection, borrowed for the holidays, and enjoyed a warming cup of soup which was catered by the library staff. This successful event certainly fulfilled the themes of our library – to ‘Connect’, ‘Celebrate’, ‘Challenge’, ‘Create’.

Work Experience at Queensland Magazines

Claudia Alzamora (Year 12) ventured to Queensland Magazines at West End for MSM work experience this week. Through her love of writing and unique voice, Claudia has been provided the opportunity to write articles that will be posted online on behalf of the publisher. Described by her supervisor as vibrant and personable, Claudia has proven herself to be adaptable by using her social intelligence when working with different interns every day. Congratulations Claudia for shining brightly and for having the courage to use your strengths.
