Ashleigh Mair – Queensland Aboriginal & Torres Straith Islander Foundation Scholarship for 2017-18

Congratulations to Ashleigh Mair (Year 11) who has been awarded a QCE Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation scholarship for 2017-2018.

The funds used by QATSIF for these scholarships are sourced from the interest earned on the original capital built from the labour of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders under now-repealed laws. Preserving this capital means the toil of previous generations will have a direct benefit to the generations that follow. In this way, QATSIF will always stand as a permanent and positive legacy for the future.

Year 12 Japanese students celebrate at Sono Restaurant

Last Friday, the Year 12 Japanese students celebrated at Sono Restaurant, Portside to mark the end of their Senior Japanese Course.

Many students took this opportunity to sample foods, such as sashimi (raw fish) and wasabi for the first time. It was a wonderful way for our students, who have worked hard over the past 5 years in Japanese, to enjoy this fine dining experience.
