Royal Australian Chemical Institute’s annual Crystal Growing Competition
Crystals 2

This year a number of Year 7 and Year 8 students entered the Royal Australian Chemical Institute’s annual Crystal Growing Competition. The competition is judged by the largest, clearest and best shaped (sharp edged) crystal for each age group. Students have to submit the crystal and a one page report on the crystal growing process.

After a number of weeks of checking their crystals with Ms King, we have selected four of the best crystals to enter: Year 7 students Sophie Hancock, Claudia Legge, Alyssa Hastie and Georgia Fragos. The crystals will be sent in at the end of term and will be judged next month.

All students participating will receive a crystal sticker and a participation certificate. The winner(s) will receive an award and a merit certificate. We eagerly await these results!
