Last Friday, August 4, two year 10 Geography Humanities classes spent a glorious winter’s day on Palm Beach at the Gold Coast. The students were looking at human induced erosion and the Gold Coast City Council’s response to support the beach.
Our students had a fun day collecting data and taking measurements relating to longshore drift, beach ecology, the general health of the beach and current coastal management processes and strategies. The students really enjoyed completing all the activities with the help of their teachers and Maggie and James from the Centre for Coastal Management Griffith University. A great day was had by all!
