Year 7 students visit Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

On Tuesday, 11 October, Year 7 was fortunate enough to visit Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. We were introduced to many intriguing species and learnt about many of the animals. The guides taught us about various factors that are currently affecting animals worldwide, such as urbanisation, global warming and the introduction of foreign animals. We learnt how to help these animals and to make a positive impact on the environment.
Some of the animals that we saw included the Tasmanian devil, the kangaroos, the golden-shouldered parrot and the Southern cassowary. We were delighted to have our own private Free Flight Raptor Show, where we saw a barn owl, a black kite and a white-bellied sea eagle up close. Thank you to our fantastic teachers for a phenomenal day!
