About Our Staff

Principal Ms Sharon Volp leads and manages Mt St Michael’s College, providing an educational environment that accurately reflects the mission, values and goals of the College. It is a welcoming and inclusive place to work. Our staff model passionate advocacy of the mission and charism of the Sisters of Charity, showing a deep sense of respect and compassion as mission-centred leaders. 

Anyone who chooses to work at Mt St Michael’s College, is required to understand that at the core of our educational service are the Gospel values which call us to work for the common good of all, to serve those in our society who are marginalised, socially excluded and poor. Board members and members of the senior leadership team have an understanding of and accept our Catholic identity, and have knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching, the relationship between the Code of Canon Law and Civil Law, and the history and legacy of the Sisters of Charity, with whom we are in partnership.

Working at MSM provides staff the opportunity to work in a professional and caring environment with opportunities for professional and personal growth. Mt St Michael’s College currently employs 120 staff, made up of teaching and support staff.

The terms and condition of employment at the College, for teachers and non-teaching staff are drawn from MA000077 Education Services (Teachers) Award 2010 MA000076 Educational Services (Schools) General Staff Award 2010 and the Catholic Employing Authorities Single Enterprise Collective Agreement – Religious Institute Schools of Queensland.
